RESET
February 29–March 22, 2020
A must-attend event for the winter season, the Art Souterrain Festival is back for a 12th edition in the heart of the metropolis. From February 29 to March 22, 2020, contemporary art will invest 5 km of Montreal’s underground pedestrian network and 7 off-course venues to present, for 24 days, contemporary works of art by some 50 local and international artists on the theme RESET.
If you could press a button and erase everything, what would you do with this new blank page? If you were offered to start from scratch, how would you imagine the world?
The works selected by the 4 curators, Juliette Bibasse (France), Marie Perrault (Canada), Lynn Bannon (Canada), and Dulce Pinzón (Mexico) will be accessible at any time free of charge. In addition, the Festival will offer over 50 mediation activities and free artistic discoveries.
Art Souterrain is thrilled to announce that the festival is collaborating with major local artists like Skawennati, Daniel Corbeil, Sabrina Ratté, and Caroline Monnet.
International artists will also participate to this major artistic event: Anaïs Tondeur, Olivier Ratsi, Joanie Lemercier, and Julia Piccolo.
Rediscover Montreal’s underground network to the beat of contemporary art in building such as Complexe Guy-Favreau, Palais des Congrès, Édifice Jacques Parizeau, Centre de commerce mondial de Montréal, Place de la Cité International, Place Victoria, Château Dufresne, Cinéma du Parc, Institut Culturel du Mexique à Montréal, Galerie ELLEPHANT, Centre des arts actuels SKOL, and the Observatoire Place Ville-Marie.
The 12th edition of the Art Souterrain Festival will take place from February 29 to March 22, 2020.
About Art Souterrain
Art Souterrain is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 with the mandate to make contemporary art accessible to the general public. With a view to demystifying works and artistic approaches, the organization is implementing several annual projects that seek to educate the eye and create a link between the work and its audience.
In order to achieve its goals, Art Souterrain relies on a strong model that consists in bringing art out of traditional exhibition spaces in order to bring it to meet individuals. By investing in unconventional places, the organization wants to surprise everyone in their daily lives and thus provoke an interaction of a new kind.
