Since its founding in 1896, Parsons has been at the vanguard of art and design education. It has consistently ranked as one of the top three art and design schools in the world for the past several years. Having joined The New School in 1970, Parsons is now one of the University’s five colleges (the others are The College of Performing Arts, Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, The New School for Social Research, and the Schools of Public Engagement). Parsons is a diverse community, with a particularly high percentage of international students (46%). Parsons’ 20 masters and 16 undergraduate degree programs, as well as its pre-college and continuing education offerings, provide artists, designers, scholars, and entrepreneurs with the skills needed to devise design-led approaches to complex challenges.
