Deriving from the performance and exhibition—staged by Anne Imhof at the 57th Venice Biennale—the album Faust is part documentation and part elaboration, the sonic capture and extrapolation of the gestures, intensities, and durations of the live event. Serving as the dramatic backbone of the several-hour long performance at the 2017 German Pavilion, the soundtrack was a product of the collective and its individuals, written by Anne Imhof and her collaborators Billy Bultheel, Eliza Douglas, and Franziska Aigner.
Admission to MMK is free.
Tickets for the party can be bought here or at Robert Johnson.
The album, co-published with German Pavilion 2017 and Galerie Buchholz, can be ordered via the record label PAN and is available December 5 at MMK.
Anne Imhof is part of the current exhibition Museum that is on view until February 16, 2020 at MUSEUM MMK and ZOLLAMT MMK.
