Anyang Public Art Project (APAP) has kicked off its 6th edition. The project is Korea’s sole international Triennale exhibition which leads Korea’s public art. APAP6 running from October 17 to December 15 has been on view in Anyang Art Park and Pyeongchon Central Park under the main theme of Symbiotic City with its slogan “Anyang, Harmony, Tomorrow.”
The main theme of APAP 6, Symbiotic City well serves Anyang city’s purpose to hold APAP. The city, once plague by imprudent developments and destroyed natural environment, holds the event to regenerate the city and enhance life quality of its citizens through art and employs art contents to ease fundamental conflicts lingering in the city. In order to specifically embody the meaning of Symbiotic City, the project, based on its slogan, features three subthemes of “Anyang,” “Harmony” and “Tomorrow.” When putting each and every piece of the project together, APAP6 seeks to use the art and the symbiotic relations of art, technology, city and environment as a vehicle to pursue a better future.
APAP6 presents the works of Moon Joo, Chen Dai Goang, Georges Rousse, Lee Wen, Yoon Suk Nam, Daan Roosegaarde, Guan Xiao, Katja Novitskova, Oriol Vilanova, Cilia Erens, Im Young Zoo, Che One Joon, Jackson Hong and also offers open programs. More details can be found in the websites of APAP6 (www.apap6.or.kr / www.apap.or.kr) and of Anyang Foundation of Culture and Arts (www.ayac.or.kr) as well as in the Instagram (@apap.official).
