Vibrant, bold, and pioneering, Palais de Tokyo is the largest center for contemporary artistic creation in Europe, as well as a one-of-a-kind exhibition space. A rebellious wasteland with the air of a Palace, an anti-museum in permanent transformation, Palais de Tokyo has kept Paris full of life and on its toes since 2002. At once convivial and challenging, generous and cutting edge, inviting and radical, poetic and transgressive, it is a space to learn, to experience, to feel, and to live – a space from which the unexpected springs forth. Driven by the desire to change our vision of art, Palais de Tokyo invites us to bear witness to the audacities of our time and to live the experience of art in the making, in all its guises.
Palais de Tokyo is seeking two Exhibition Curators:
One should have a significant international experience and a highly developed curatorial practice.
The other should have settled an activity of curatorship and research, including an in-depth knowledge of some non-Western artistic scenes.
The Curators will work with Palais de Tokyo’s curatorial team and occasionally with guest curators on the conception and realisation of the entire artistic programme as decided by its President, including: Research and prospection; Implementation process in association with the production team; Fundraising in collaboration with the economic development team; Elaboration of communication tools in collaboration with the dedicated team; Drafting of cultural mediation documents in collaboration with the education team; Elaboration of books and magazines associated to the programme in collaboration with the publication team…
A background in Art History and/or curatorial studies with a master’s degree, or equivalent, is a prerequisite, as well as a very good knowledge of contemporary art and its networks. Required qualities include a sense of organisation and rigour, excellent relational capacities, project and people management, high-quality writing skills, demonstrable excellence in verbal communication and presentation and the ability to represent Palais de Tokyo externally. A mastery of French and English is indispensable; knowledge of another language would be appreciated.

Please submit your completed application (motivation letter to the attention of the President Emma Lavigne with your salary expectations and a CV including details of exhibitions and publications all in one PDF file) before November 11, 2019 to: recrutements [at] palaisdetokyo.com.
