Each semester, a visiting professor teaches the Graduate Seminar course and conducts bi-weekly individual critiques. Travel experiences are a crucial element of the curriculum. Students have visited curators, artists, residencies, and galleries in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, as well as Documenta 14, Sculpture Project Münster, and Berlin Art Week, The Carnegie International and art events in New York, Los Angeles, Lima, and Beijing. All MFA students can participate in regular exhibitions of VCUarts alumni in New York City.
