Asia Week San Francisco Bay Area is delighted to announce the final list of 45 participants committed to its fifth edition. Taking place in the first week of every October since 2015, Asia Week San Francisco Bay Area brings together Asian art galleries, auction houses, museums, and cultural institutions, for a series of events celebrating Asian art and culture. The mission of Asia Week San Francisco Bay Area is to establish a broad platform to showcase and promote Asian art, further fostering appreciation for cultural diversity. Asia Week San Francisco Bay Area focuses on presenting premier quality programs including exhibitions, auctions, lectures, seminars, curator and artist talks, book readings, film screenings, performances, and a featured annual symposium.

Co-hosted by NanHai Art, The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and Christie’s, the 2019 Asia Week San Francisco Bay Area symposium entitled “In Ink: Current Trends of Ink Art” will kick off the fifth edition on October 5 from 2–5:30pm. Featuring speakers and panelists include: Abby Chen (Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, Asian Art Museum);  Katherine Don (Head of Arts & Cultural Development, Asia Society Hong Kong); Prof. Kuiyi Shen (University of California San Diego); Richard Vine (Managing Editor of Art in America); Chun Chen Wang(Deputy Director of CAFA Art Museum, China); moderated by Prof. Julia Andrews (The Ohio State University).

An opening reception for Asia Week SFBA 2019 and three concurrent NanHai Art exhibitions In Ink: Current Trends of Ink Art, Paramita- Recent Works of Xu Lei and Scent - Recent Works of Xu Hualing will follow from 5:30–6:30pm, October 5.
