Panel discussion: Future-Proof Your Animation Career

School of Visual Arts (SVA) BFA Animation, BFA Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effect, and MFA Computer Arts Departments will co-host the panel discussion Future-Proof Your Animation Career at the 2020 Annecy Animated Film Festival Online, Mifa Campus. In this panel, industry professionals and educators from the School of Visual Arts will share insights and advice for new talent to future-proof their career in animation. Topics will include how new talent should prepare themselves as they enter into the industry, the state of the animation industry as it relates to the COVID-19 crisis, and what tools new talent can use to help focus during these challenging times.
Panelists include: Ben Voldman, MFA Computer Arts faculty member and freelance 3D artist and compositor; Cat Gulascy, BFA Computer Art faculty member and Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist; Chrissy Fellmeth, BFA Animation faculty, storyboard artist and co-lead of Women in Animation New York City Chapter. The panel will be moderated by Hsiang Chin Moe, chair of BFA Animation and Women in Animation’s chair of education.
For its 2020 edition, the Annecy International Animation Film Market (Mifa Campus) will offer unprecedented access to its content. The Mifa Campus program will be available online to all participants with no need to acquire accreditation to participate in the panel. The panel will be on the Annecy website and viewers may pose questions to the panelists through a live Q&A on Tuesday, June 16 at 8:30am EDT. The panel will be available for viewing from June 16 through June 30.
