The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna is currently accepting applications for the following position:
University professor
According to § 98 UG in the field of fine arts with a focus on abstract painting from October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2025. The professorship is assigned to the Institute of Fine Arts.
Application requirements:
–A university degree in the field or an artistic qualification that may be considered equivalent
–Excellent artistic qualification and working practice in the field of abstract painting, with special consideration of a work concept that formally and methodically reflects painting from the point of view of contemporary art production
–Sound knowledge of historical as well as current developments of abstract painting
–Proof of international exhibition activity
–Proof of pedagogic and didactic qualification as well as a meaningful statement presenting the candidate’s approach to artistic teaching
–Ability to develop the arts within the framework of the Academy
–Willingness to participate in university committees and to cooperate with employees
–Willingness to have a permanent residence in Vienna
–Excellent German and English language skills
–Gender and intercultural competence
The duties include teaching at least 17 units a week in the central artistic subject “Abstract Painting” in the field of fine arts. It is desirable that individual artistic supervision takes place weekly.
The monthly gross pay according to the collective bargaining agreement for employees of universities in pay group A1 is currently 5,130.20 EUR. Salary may be increased contingent upon candidates’ qualifications.
