Artissima—the most contemporary art fair in Italy, supported by UniCredit—will return in Turin from November 1 to 3, featuring the works of more than 1,000 artists presented by 208 galleries from 43 countries. Discover the complete list of the 2019 exhibitors here.

Special projects
The unique character of Artissima stems from its dual approach, combining a market proposal at the highest level with a cultural offering capable of investigating new and different ways of presenting art inside the fair (fair), outside (in town), and across the entire year (365).

fair

Hub Middle East
A new geographical focus in collaboration with Fondazione Torino Musei and with the special advice of Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath that sets out to offer an overview of galleries, institutions and artists active in a area of central importance for developments in contemporary society.

Artissima Junior
An immersive artistic experience of participation designed in partnership with Juventus to involve the young visitors of the fair. This year artist duo Ornaghi&Prestinari will conduct SOPRA SOPRA, a collective artwork, somewhere between an installation and a useful object, in which the creative input of every person contributes to enhance that of the others.

Head
Irreverent forerunner of feminist themes, artist Tomaso Binga – male pseudonym chosen as an act of protest, will work with renowned hairstylist Franco Curletto on the creation of a collaborative performance in the context of the fair.

Concrete
A special capsule collection of eyewear born from the collaboration between VANNI occhiali and Cristian Chironi. Visitors wearing the glasses at Artissima will be involved in a direct interaction with the artist, which will be sudden, without preliminary agreement, unpredictable.

in town

Abstract Sex: We Don’t Have Any Clothes, Only Equipment
An innovative off-site exhibition project occupying the spaces of Jana, an historic boutique in Turin. The project, conceived by Ilaria Bonacossa, and curated by Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti and Guido Costa, investigates the importance of desire in the most recent artistic and cultural research through videos, sculptures, works on canvas, paper, and objects presented by the galleries taking part in Artissima.

Artissima Telephone
Conceived by Ilaria Bonacossa and curated by Vittoria Martini, Artissima Telephone offers an overview of the telephone as a means of artistic expression. Created with and for the spaces of OGR – Officine Grandi Riparazioni, the exhibition encourages reflection on the point of passage between landlines and mobile phones, exploring the way social practices have changed since the introduction of factors of mobility (space) and simultaneity (time).

…ma l’amor mio non muore
A large performative and sculptural installation by Marcello Maloberti set up in the magical ballroom of the 5-star Hotel Principi di Piemonte di UNA Esperienze. Fragments like archaeological relics scattered on the ground, the remains of destruction that becomes a symbol with a thousand overtones: a poetic act of performative impact.

JaguArt
A special project in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover triggered by the shared desire to support emerging art: starting from the fair, art schools, galleries and car dealerships, will be the protagonists of a true road show in 10 major Italian cities in the discovery of new talents to be presented during Artissima 2020.

Art Mapping Piemonte
A selection of the most outstanding works of public contemporary art in the Piedmont territory alongside the creation of three site-specific installations by international contemporary artists, Art Mapping Piemonte aims to help people discover contemporary art away from traditional exhibition models. The initiative, in collaboration with the Piedmont Region and supported by Compagnia di San Paolo, is produced by Fondazione Torino Musei and curated by Ilaria Bonacossa for Artissima.

A 360-degree strategy that accompanies the fair audience 365 days a year, in 2019 Artissima Digital powered by Compagnia di San Paolo launches “#ArtissimaPills. Fresh news from the art world,” a series of brief videos with curators of the fair curated by Edoardo Bonaspetti, Stefano Cernuschi and Anna Bergamasco.

Artissima Experimental Academy
