Application deadline: September 2, 2019
Following a directorship of seven years, Anne-Claire Schmitz will leave the institution in July 2019. As such, the board of La Loge is seeking a new director, starting in January 2020, to lead La Loge into the future. During her mandate, Schmitz has created a rich and diverse programme of more than 30 exhibitions, performances and discursive events, which have established a strong national and international reputation for the institution.
La Loge serves as a platform for the production and presentation of projects by artists, architects, designers and theorists whose work enters into unexpected dialogue. Belgian architect and patron Philippe Rotthier founded the institution in 2012 as a new space to foster dialogue and experimentation within the field of art, architecture and theory, aimed at contributing to the Brussels’ and international cultural scene.
La Loge anticipates an exciting future with new projects and the consolidation of its local and international scope. The board looks forward to further developing the institution’s commitment to a diverse group of cultural practitioners and theorists who critically reflect on architectural, ecological, societal and ethical concerns in line with the spirit of its founder.
The aim is to continue constructing a conscious institution that raises challenging questions about how to inhabit the world of tomorrow. La Loge will pursue its development from January 2020 with a new team and in a new direction according to the statements of intent available here.
