The opportunity:
OCA seeks a new Head of Communications and External Relations who will play a crucial role in our endeavor to bring Norway’s artistic community to the forefront of national and international debates. Reporting directly to the Director, and supported by a Communication Officer, the new Head of Communications and External Relations will be responsible for:
–Communicating OCA’s activities and achievements through all media channels, nationally and internationally.
–Developing campaigns, traditional marketing materials and templates, ensuring compliance with OCA’s high standards.
–Providing strategic advice for communication and marketing initiatives and delivering high-quality brands materials.
–Safeguarding visual communications, including our website and social media platforms, ensuring they are brand compliant, of high quality, ethical and in line with OCA´s values.
–Development of new and innovative communication channels.
–Managing the International Visitors to OCA, curators and press, in their research programmes in Oslo/Norway.
–Developing an External Relations strategy, ensuring long term sustainable relations with OCA´s stakeholders, in collaboration with the Director.
–Proactively contributing to the entire OCA team’s work, to ensure fulfilment of our strategic goals.
This is a leadership role which includes working with all OCA stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing OCA, and deputise for the Director when needed, in meetings, as well as on travels in Norway and abroad.
Required experience and personal qualities:
–Bachelor degree or above—preferably in communications or in a field related to the arts
–At least five years’ experience in the art world, and good knowledge of the national and international communications field
–Experienced public speaker and general communicator to specialist and brad audiences
–Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English—oral and written. Fluency in Norwegian is highly valuable, or the willingness to learn the language rapidly.
–Works well under pressure, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders and consistently delivering high-quality work on time.
–A creative mindset, with strong interpersonal skills and international experience in an arts institution or equivalent are preferable qualities.
