The third edition of art berlin will take place from September 12–15, 2019. For the second time, the fair will be housed in the spectacular hangars of the decommissioned Tempelhof airport, a historic Berlin site.
Since 2017, Berlin has been attracting the international art world to the city with its new art fair, starting off the autumn season with around 120 national and international galleries presenting a comprehensive overview over the current art market, from contemporary young and established positions to works of classic Modernism. The fair, which emerged from a partnership between abc art berlin contemporary and Art Cologne, reflects the diversity of artistic production exhibited by the galleries.
With an extensive accompanying program consisting of talks, special events, studio visits and the Berlin Gallery Openings, art berlin offers a glimpse into some highlights of the art metropolis. art berlin is a partner of Berlin Art Week, which brings together selected exhibition openings held by Berlin’s major museums and institutions, such as Hamburger Bahnhof, KW Institute of Contemporary Art, Gropius Bau, Berlinische Galerie, as well as Berlin´s numerous private museums.
Applications are now welcome for Galleries, the main section featuring modern and contemporary art, as well as for the fair´s Special Projects section focusing on solo and curated shows.
We are delighted to announce a new multi-year partnership with the Landesbank Baden-Wuerttemberg, represented at art berlin by the advisory board of their acclaimed collection. Furthermore, we are pleased to welcome the Committee for the Collection of the German Federal Republic of Germany to this year’s fair.
