A public institution of higher education in art operating under the authority of the French Ministry of Culture, the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Paris-Cergy (ENSAPC) grants the bachelor, master and PhD degrees. Instruction is provided by artists, sculptors, musicians, choreographers, dancers, writers, filmmakers, curators, theoreticians, researchers, and practicing professionals of national and international renown active in creative endeavors.
ENSAPC is thoroughly cross-disciplinary and student centered, allowing students great freedom to design their own curriculum. ENSAPC’s courses span a wide spectrum of disciplines, including the visual and performing arts, writing, film, and theory; many are offered in cooperation with partner institutions in France and abroad. To promote a critical approach to contemporary challenges, the school is nimble, responsive, critical, and attentive to new fields of knowledge that lead to new domains of artistic practice.
Openness to the world, intercultural dialogue, and international cooperation are integral parts of ENSAPC’s institutional policy. The development of joint teaching and research projects with foreign partners, the active recruitment of international students and faculty, and the encouragement of outgoing mobility by French students together give ENSAPC a student body that reflects the variety of global artistic creation.
ENSAPC is establishing an art center in Aubervilliers. It will provide a space for encounters, experimentation, research, and interactions in which teaching, research, and professional training meet and cross-fertilize.
