Les Ateliers de Rennes
Les Ateliers de Rennes – Contemporary art biennale was launched ten years ago with the idea that art, the economy and the creative thinking of artists could be brought together. The previous editions of this biennial paved the way for this idea, it did not only help formulate it, but it also broadened the perspective for thinking through art objects and practices within the fields of art and economy. This background allowed the curators “to start out with the immediate desire to think with artists, beyond a vision of the world ruled by orthodox economics, which continues to demand and shape our civilizational lens.”
Organized by Art Norac, the nonprofit organization of the food production and distribution group Norac, the Biennale is supported by the Ville de Rennes – Rennes Métropole, Ministère de la Culture – Drac Bretagne, Conseil Régional de Bretagne, Conseil départemental d’Ille-et-Vilaine, as well as private media and partners.
Accreditation for the profesionnal previews on September 27 & 28, 2018 is now open to arts professionals. Register here.
