California College of the Arts (CCA) seeks graduate applications for 2019. With 11 renowned program offerings, CCA is a highly interdisciplinary community of scholars, artists, designers, architects, and writers, offering graduate students a platform to challenge the status quo and master their practices.
CCA offers graduate programs in:
Architecture (MArch), Advanced Architectural Design (MAAD), Comics (MFA), Curatorial Practice (MA), Design (MFA), Design Strategy (MBA), Film (MFA), Fine Arts (MFA), Interaction Design (MDes), Visual and Critical Studies (MA), Writing (MFA)
With an emphasis in contemporary practice and critical theory—bolstered by intensive critiques and interdisciplinary discourse—graduate students emerge ready to make a lasting mark on culture. Faculty mentorship and multimedia experimentation equip students with the real-world experiences, critical thinking skills, and artistic tools they’ll need for a creative career.
Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, our programs benefit from a progressive, diverse art scene and our close proximity to powerhouse brands, innovative technology companies, and world-renowned museums. Curricula are enhanced by our unique relationships with cultural institutions, internships with industry darlings, and collaborative projects with nonprofits in the public sphere.
Each graduate program selects outstanding students for prestigious graduate merit scholarships. Renewable and annual, these scholarships range up to 44,000 USD and are open to all prospective graduate students who apply by the January 10 deadline.
Making the cost of graduate study manageable is crucial to CCA’s mission. Financial aid is available to qualified U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Eligible applicants should file, in conjunction with their CCA application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) starting October 1, 2018. CCA’s federal school code is 001127.
