Artissima turns 25
November 2–4, 2018
25 years of discovery and experimentation, innovation and enhancement, emotion and art. 25 vibrant, dynamic years, pulsating and intense, which have made Artissima Italy’s foremost contemporary art fair.
Artissima returns to the Oval Pavilion in Turin from November 2 to 4 to offer the public a wonderful opportunity to fall in love with the latest developments in art and a unique journey of exploration and discovery.
Participating galleries and artists
Artissima 2018 will feature 189 galleries from 35 countries and 61 artists in its curated sections. Discover here the full list of participating galleries in Main Section, Dialogue, New Entries, Present Future, Back to the Future, Disegni, Art Editions & Multiples.
Furthermore the fair will launch Sound, a new off-site section in collaboration with OGR devoted to sound installations (list in September), an enticing programme of collectors and curators-guided tours, an improved digital platform, an unprecedented special project and seven important awards.
Prizes
Artissima counts on an important acquisition budget by local museums and institutions, and seven different prizes in collaboration with the fair’s partners awarded to its galleries and artists by international curators and museum directors:
The EDIT Dinner Prize (new): promoted by EDIT—an innovative gastronomic hub that combines experimentation with sharing—is a new prize consisting in the production and artistic direction of a dinner to be realised at EDIT on the occasion of the 2019 edition of the fair.
Campari Art Prize: promoted by Campari Group, it’s assigned to an artist under 35 whose research focuses on the evocative power of storytelling in all its interpretations, and on the communicative dimension of the work.
Refresh Irinox Prize: promoted by Irinox, it’s awarded to an artist of the Disegni section who has succeeded in reinventing the immediacy of drawing.
OGR Award: a prize of Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT leading to the acquisition of a work of the new Sound section as part of the foundation’s collection, for the OGR – Officine Grandi Riparazioni in Turin.
illy Present Future Prize: promoted by illycaffè and celebrating its 18th edition, it’s assigned to the most significant work in the Present Future section.
Sardi per l’Arte Back to the Future Prize: promoted by Fondazione Sardi per l’Arte, it’s awarded to the gallery with the most deserving project in terms of historical relevance and booth presentation in the Back to the Future section.
Fondazione Ettore Fico Prize: in collaboration with Fondazione Ettore Fico, it promotes the work of emerging artists among all those participating in Artissima.
Artissima is a trademark of the Regione Piemonte, the Città Metropolitana di Torino and the Città di Torino; it reports to Fondazione Torino Musei. The 25th Artissima is produced with the support of the three institutions that hold the trademark, jointly with Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT, Compagnia di San Paolo and the Camera di commercio di Torino. The organisation of Artissima is entrusted to Artissima srl, the company formed in 2008 to oversee the artistic and commercial relations of the fair.
