art berlin is delighted to announce its second edition, taking place from September 27–30, 2018.
Around 120 galleries from 21 countries offer the international art world a comprehensive overview of contemporary positions while also showcasing works of classic modernism. The fair takes place for the first time in two hangars of the historical Tempelhof Airport, since its decommissioning becoming a central Berlin location for a variety of cultural activities.
This year more than 90 galleries present highlights from their programs in the fair’s Galleries section. Of note are two collaborative initiatives: six Brazilian galleries join together to bring contemporary Latin American art to Berlin, while four Austrian galleries focus on the medium of sculpture.
The Special Projects section is reserved for 28 solo presentations and curated projects that offer galleries the opportunity to provide a more comprehensive introduction to an artist or to present a thematic juxtaposition of works and positions.
Also new this year is Salon: here, the curator Tenzing Barshee brings together numerous artists from multiple galleries. Participating galleries include:
Air de Paris, Paris / Arcadia Missa, London / Galerie Bernhard, Zurich / Maria Bernheim, Zurich / BQ, Berlin / Castiglioni Fine Arts, Milan, São Paulo / Fonti, Naples / Gnyp, Berlin / Lomex, New York / Mendes Wood DM, São Paulo, Brussels, New York / Neu, Berlin / Norma Mangione, Turin / PPC, Frankfurt / Rüdiger Schöttle, München / Gregor Staiger, Zurich / Truth & Consequences, Geneva / Federico Vavassori, Milan / Weiss Falk, Basel / Zeller van Almsick, Wien
