The USC Roski School of Art and Design and the USC Fisher Museum of Art present the 2018 Roski Annual Student Exhibition showcasing artworks by undergraduate students. To ensure inclusivity and diversity, the juried exhibition is open to any individual taking a course at Roski, encouraging work not only from art students, but from those majoring in programs throughout the USC campus—attracting artists with myriad interests. The public may expect to see a wide range of artworks in most media, investigating diverse topics. The exhibition is on view at the USC Fisher Museum of Art May 2–11, 2018.

2018 USC Roski MFA Candidates: Julia Orquera Bianco, Robert Farid Karimi, Chris Michael, Joshua Rains, Marton Robinson, Assaf Shaham, and Chad Sines
The USC Roski School of Art and Design announces the 2018 MFA Thesis Exhibition including works of art by seven MFA candidates. Concluding a two-year, studio-based graduate education, these emerging artists have developed unique practices and have already exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally. The MFA candidates are presenting artworks that include drawing, painting, photography, video, large-scale installation, sound, sculpture, performance, and interdisciplinary installations.
Culture in Action: Conversations in Social Practice Art

Guest Speakers: Grant Kester, Rick Lowe, Judy Baca, Lauren Bon, Dominic Willsdon, Tania Bruguera, Lucía Sanroman, Lucy Lippard, Andrea Bowers, Kenyatta Hinkle, Bill Kelley Jr., and Rigo 23.
Students, international visitors, and guest speakers consider the evolving conditions that apply to critical art practice in the public realm and how these relate to the urban, social and political conditions. Topics include the relationship between art and democracy and the long-term sustainability of community-based socially engaged art. The course includes intimate conversations, public lectures, field trips, group dinners and an opportunity to study alongside Norwegian artists and curators. This intensive experience is a collaboration between Roski School of Art and Design and KORO, Public Art Norway in Oslo.
