I’ M MARXIST, WITH GROUCHO LEANINGS — Omada Ergasias at Art Forum Berlin
Almost 100 years to the day Alfred Jarry died and a few years since a substantial amount of facial hair made its appearance on the international football scene, Omada Ergasias will be participating at Art Forum Berlin (29 Sep – 03 Oct. 07) with a fête titled I’ M MARXIST, WITH GROUCHO LEANINGS. A concoction of sports eventualities, filmic renderings and audio-visual artifacts are some of the opportunities to be laid bare by Omada Ergasias in another project of revisiting Alfred Jarry’s extended legacy, briefly. Borrowing the language, format and tactics employed by art exhibitions, symposiums and amusement fairs I’ M MARXIST, WITH GROUCHO LEANINGS will consist, amongst others, of a Trialectic Footbal Tournament, a 300km/h pedal bike competition, a conversation on aspects of the ‘Pataphysical in contemporary culture, all open to the public of Art Forum Berlin. Also during I’ M MARXIST, WITH GROUCHO LEANINGS one will be able to view a film program compiled by Omada Ergasias on ‘Pataphysical offsprings under the title ‘The Molecular Theory of Bicycles’ and listen to the first-ever specially composed soundtrack by a member of Omada Ergasias to Jarry’s Ubu Roi. T-shirts and other souvenirs will be available for purchase alongside the obligatory artist poster editions and the late night party. This last one will take place on Sunday 30th September 2007 at the
United Nations Plaza.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Anyone can participate, regardless to having a pet or not
2. (a) Any party consisting of at least three (3) units, possesses the right to form a team and submit a participation form. Each team might have up to ninety-nine (99) substitutes and might make up to eleven (11) substitutions at any given match. One of the players in the squad should be a designated captain.
(b) The General Committee (GC) organizing the Tournament, the Board of Referees and Linesmen, the Board for Fixed Games and the Mafia are bound to accept all the participation forms.
3. (a) Participation Forms might be submitted either via e-mail to constantinos_taliotis@yahoo.co.uk or in person at the Head Quarters of I’M MARXIST, WITH GROUCHO LEANINGS, located at the premises of Art Forum Berlin at any time from 12.00, on Saturday 29th September 2007, until the end of the submission period.
(b) The submission period expires at 15.00, on Saturday 29th September 2007.
(c) No exceptions will be made unless a generous bribe is offered. Omada Ergasias (O.E.), held responsible for the organization of this Tournament and acting as the Chairman of the General Committee (GC) is open to negotiations.
4. No Health Insurance will be offered by the Tournament organizers, and neither Omada Ergasias (O.E.) nor the General Committee (GC) can be held responsible in case of earthquakes.
5. Participants are advised to bring their own uniforms. Failure to perform this will NOT lead to disqualification, but might arouse suspicions for a possible conspiracy.
6. Participants are advised to warm up at home. Stationary bikes will be made available for reheat, but no toilets.
7. The draw for the Tournament’s fixtures will take place at 15.00, on Saturday 29th September, 2007, at the Head Quarters of I’M MARXISTS, WITH GROUCHO LEANINGS. All the involved parties are advised to be present. Gifts, that only serve the purpose of taking up space, will be handed out to all participants.
8. (a) The Tournament will start at 16.00, on Saturday 29th September, 2007, and will take place at the Sommergarten.
(b) Three (3) teams are to participate in any given match, and the winning team is the one that concedes less goals. Whether the Tournament will take the form of a League or Knock Out Games is unknown.
(c) The duration of each match is fifteen (15) minutes.
(d) Fouls are given only when the food is ready.
(e) Any similarities between Yellow / Red and Mustard / Ketchup, are coincidental.
(f) Psychological violence is compulsory.
(g) A special trophy will be awarded to the winning team
9. Doping, of any kind, is strictly prohibited by the International Olympic Committee, but none of the organizing bodies of the Trialectic Football Tournament share any of the International Olympic Committee’s regulations.
10. There is no entrance fee for the Trialectic Football Tournament, but those willing to participate will have to purchase the entrance ticket for Art Forum Berlin.

Omada Ergasias:
Omada Ergasias [Work Team] upon having been founded has emerged as an active agent within the local cultural arenas. Having been born out of a critical, practical and theoretical inferno Omada Ergasias has been actively engaged with the flourishing experimental publishing scenes in Nicosia, Athens and Stuttgart (“Hybrid” quarterly virtual edition, “3Tria” pop culture journal, http://www.ombion.blogspot.com http://www.cypriotculturalstudies.blogspot.com “Judas”, Caterpillar Publishing, etc).Employing a variety of methodologies Omada Ergasias has performed actions and conducted investigations in the city assessing the culture of recreational practice (food, alcohol, drugs). Part of their research interests involve individual and collective in depth examination of pondering, gazing and staring at selected light beaming sources as modes of dis-empowering insomnia, as well as voluntary and involuntary involvement of social agents in post collegial artistic practice (Trapezi — The Table nomadic happening 1999, Tramba audiovisual conspiracy performances, Bar 1999-2002, Fish Tavern 2002).
Omada Ergasias has been occasionally involved in consumer-enabled acts, as well as the spontaneous exchange of gifts regardless of notions of seasonality or locality.
Its members are currently engaged in trans-disciplinary conventional research studies across a field of disciplines.
In May 2007 they curated the Nicosia Architectural Biennale, in Nicosia, Cyprus.

unitednationsplaza is exhibition as school. Structured as a seminar/residency program in the city of Berlin, it will involve collaboration with approximately 60 artists, writers, theorists and a wide range of audiences for a period of one year. In the tradition of Free Universities, most of its events will be open to all those interested to take part.
unitednationsplaza is organized by Anton Vidokle in collaboration with Liam Gillick, Boris Groys, Martha Rosler, Walid Raad, Jalal Toufic, Nikolaus Hirsch, Natascha Sadr Haghighian and Tirdad Zolghadr.
