Bonhams & Butterfields’ Made in California is sale is dedicated to modern
and contemporary Californian art. From the modernist painting of the
mid-20th century to the genre-defying work of today, the sale features a
wide range of media that illustrates the state’s rich cultural heritage.
With specialists in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Modern
and Contemporary Art department amassed an extraordinary collection to
offer in the inaugural auction last May. The sale set auction records
for artists such as Joan Brown, Lee Mullican, Manuel Neri, Guy Dill and
Wallace Berman. The second sale last November was equally successful
offering groundbreaking work by Claire Falkenstein, Judy Chicago, Elmer
Bischoff, and Lari Pittman.
We are now accepting consignments for our May 5th sale.
