Addressing the present urban condition and reality of built environment, contemporary artists mine the mythos of modern architecture, its promises and conflicted legacy.

ADAM SZYMCZYK is a curator and writer born in 1970 in Poland. In 1997, he was one of the founding members of the Foksal Gallery Foundation (FGF) in Warsaw. In 2003, he was appointed Director and Chief Curator of the Kunsthalle Basel and, in 2008, he co-curated with Elena Filipovic the 5th Berlin Biennial, entitled “When Things Cast No Shadow.”
