In it’s second year, PA/PER VIEW art book fair will present 33 of the world’s leading artist book publishers during Belgium’s most intense contemporary art weekend. This convergence of reputable and exciting initiatives will take place in the mezzanine of Wiels from 6pm Thursday 22nd April until 6pm Sunday 25th April 2010. With guest speakers Jonathan Monk, Joost Smiers, Seth Siegelaub, Daniel McClean and Luc Derycke.
Models of Authorship
The seminar will discuss models of authorship from four different perspectives: Jonathan Monk (artist), Joost Smiers (legal theorist), Seth Siegelaub (curator, gallery owner and publisher), Luc Derycke (book designer and publisher). It will address the social context in which cultural works are made and communicated; legal constraints placed upon creativity and how these can be challenged; the role of repetition in the making of art and collaborative processes of authorship.
