Du Magazine No. 807 presents 29 artists for the 21th century, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist.

Du Magazine is one of Europe’s leading publications on art, literature, music and cultural developments ever since 1941. Cooperations with such diverse artists like Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Elfriede Jelinek, Philip Roth, Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Pipilotti Rist, Miles Davis, John Cage, Madonna, Ang Lee, Pedro Almodovar, Jeanne Moreau, Zaha Hadid, and Harald Szeemann have marked our path to the present.

With its special issue for the Art Basel, Du is pleased to announce its cooperation with Hans Ulrich Obrist. His selection of 29 artists “Curating the 21st century” is Obrist’s first big exhibition in Switzerland – presented in the format of a printed magazine. This exhibition is complemented with Obrist’s thesises for the future of art – a manifesto for people on the cutting edge. Obrist introduces us to 29 young, innovative artists who he believes will have a significant impact on art in the early 21st century – talent not beholden to the postmodern or fashionable trends. In their own voices and pictures these artists, cosmopolitans from Europe to the United Staates, from China to Chile, tell us about their vision, unrealized projects and their work thus far.

You can order Du magazine No. 807 on the website www.du-magazin.com or get it in bookshops and kiosks in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.

On June 17th Hans Ulrich Obrist and Du‘s editor-in-chief Stefan Kaiser will give a public talk as part of Art Basel’s Art Salon, from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m in Hall 1.
