FUSO initiated and produced by Duplacena and The Berardo Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art will be the 2nd International Video Art event in Lisbon to be held between July 28th and July 31st, 2010.
During the event’s forth-day duration, eight different programs of video and digital art, will be screened mainly in open air in four different places: the BES Arte & Finança Centre, headquarter of the Banco Espirito Santo, the main sponsor of the Festival, the garden of Carpe Diem – Arte e Pesquisa, a new place in Lisbon for contemporary art, the garden of The Goethe Institute and the terrace of The Berardo Musem in Belém.
Artist’s special screenings will include, among others, a retrospective of Marcel Odenbach (Germany) in presence of the artist.
As the first edition of FUSO, screening programs will be a combination of selections done by guest curators, as Sergio Edelstein (Center for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv), Thierry Destriez (Heure Exquise! France) and Elsa Aleluia (independent curator).
An Open Call for new Portuguese Video Art as been launched in May. The winner will be bought by a Portuguese Foundation, The PLMJ (Miguel Amado, curator and president of the Jury).
