Galerie Giti Nourbakhsch is proud to present a solo project by Vincent Tavenne at Art Forum Berlin. On show will be new works on paper and papier-maché as well as a large tent piece. Especially for this project the gallery has produced a new publication which will be available at the stand.
In recent years, the Berlin based French artist Vincent Tavenne (*1961) has become known to a wide audience for his spectacular textile tent-objects.
His work always revolves around imagination and modes of experiencing space. As a painter and sculptor, Tavenne employs many different techniques, styles and materials: alongside monumental architectural fabric or wood sculptures, he makes fragile assemblages, conceptual paintings on paper and creates bronze castings of surreal, alienated yet seemingly everyday objects. At first the viewer is a mere spectator but in turn, his or her own physical movement becomes part of the sculptural situation.
Recent solo exhibitions include Saarland Museum, Saarbrücken, Germany, Art:Concept, Paris and Overbeck-Gesellschaft, Lübeck.
