Art&Education is pleased to present NO RULES a conference at Cooper Union honoring the finalists of our 2011 Paper’s Prize, an initiative to support emerging scholars conducting innovative research on contemporary art. Art&Education Papers Prize is a co-organized by e-flux and Artforum.

The conference will include presentations on possible links between deregulation—as an economic and cultural paradigm—running parallel to the rise of the post-studio condition. How has the economic frame of precarity and the ‘entrepreneurial’ impacted the ways in which we imagine the possible terrain of artistic production and reception?

Please join us for presentations by our finalists for Art&Education Papers Prize to be followed by discussion with members of the selection jury.

The 2011 Paper Prize Finalists:

Natilee Harren
Objects Without Object: The Artwork in Flux

Nate Harrison
The Pictures Generation, the Copyright Act of 1976 and The Reassertion of Authorship in Postmodernity

Yates McKee

The winner will be announced at the conference at Cooper Union on October 22, 2011.
