Lovely Daze is a curatorial journal of artist’s writings and artworks published by artist Charwei Tsai twice a year in limited editions. Issue 8: Pilgrimage takes the reader through a journey of nature, death, and light, in search of what is beyond the Self.
This collection of works begins with painting of Buddhist monks marching through unstable grounds by G.R. Iranna, photographic images of a parade through death and torture by CHEN Chieh-Jen, pages from travel journal by Mark Borthwick, an eclipse transitioning in colors by Peter Coffin, and a spill of sarcasm by Wilfredo Prieto.
Other featured artists in this issue are: Hisham Bharoocha, Yukinori Maeda from Cosmic Wonder, Domingo Milella, Kyoko Murase, Annie Ratti, WU Chi-Tsung, and YUAN Goang-Ming.
Lovely Daze is a curatorial journal of artists’ writings and artworks published since 2005. In addition to the publication, Lovely Daze has produced and organized artists’ performances and talks at institutions including: Centre Pompidou, Paris (2010); PS1 Contemporary Art Center, New York (2007, 2009); Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2006); and New Museum, New York (2006); and participated in international exhibitions and fairs: Art Basel Miami Beach and Printed Matter, New York (2011); “Longe Daqui, Aqui Mesmo” library project at the 29th Sao Paulo Bienal, Brazil (2010); Tokyo Art Book Fair at 3331 Arts Chiyoda, Japan (2010); London Art Book Fair at Whitechapel Art Gallery, UK (2010); “On Publications, Portraits, Public Art & Performance” at The Modern Institute, Glasgow, UK (2010); Forum Biennale at Taipei Contemporary Art Center, Taipei, Taiwan (2010); “Booked Up!” at New Jerseyy, Basel, Switzerland (2009); “Artist’s Magazines” at Art Basel, Switzerland, curated by AA Bronson and Lionel Bovier (2008); and “MEGAZINES” at Visionnaire, New York, USA (2006).
