“Young, Emerging and Offbeat” –New York Times
After the successful first edition in Paris, fotofever, a contemporary photography fair, expands to Brussels from the 4th to the 7th of October 2012 at the magnificent historical site, “Tour & Taxis,” the spectacular turn of the century complex on the banks of the Brussels-Charleroi Canal right in the heart of this European capital. fotofever presents 64 galleries and editors from 16 different countries, showing more than 250 artists reigning from 38 countries. Infused with talent, fotofever explores the diversity of today’s imagery, from numeric art to video, showcasing prominent artists as well as talented newcomersand sparking the vocation of collecting. “fotofever is the fruit of an osmosis between a curious public, the involvement of passionate gallerists and great trust accorded by renowned institutions and partners,” states founder Cécile Schall, who worked for years with Will Ramsay, founder of AAF and co-founder of Art Hong Kong and Pulse.
In addition to all of the superb exhibitors, fotofever also presents numerous areas of exploration:

unseen private collection: “For Galila’s Eyes Only,” an exhibition of 30 works from the private collection of Belgian collector Galila broaching the theme of “the eye,” will be curated by EYEMAZING Susan, founder of Eyemazing Editions, and includes established artists Irving Penn and Douglas Gordon, as well as newly discovered young talents.
fotoprize: young Polish photographer Anna Orlowska will be celebrated as the first winner of the fotoprize on Thursday, October 4th. Anna will receive an exhibition at the fair and in 4 galleries in the Photo District Marais, with her portfolio published in Azart magazine.
fototalks:a discussion platform dedicated to photography, collecting, institutions, photographic editions, and video art bring together professionals to share their immense knowledge and passion for photography,editions, and video.
videofever: an area of the fair will be dedicated to contemporary and experimental video works featuring an atypical projection room not to be missed.

Exhibitors’ works will be available to view and acquire at Paddle8.com until November 18th for extended viewing and bidding after the fair closes.
