Mark your agenda: SP-Arte has new dates. The São Paulo International Art Fair announces its 9th edition to take place April 3–7, 2013.
SP-Arte is held in the infamous Pavilhão Ciccillo Matarazzo (Biennial Pavilion), a 15,000 sq. marchitectural icon designed by Oscar Niemeyer. The fair showcases the multidisciplinary platforms of contemporary artist’s while also offering the best selection of Brazilian and international modern masters.
As Latin America’s largest city, São Paulo has positioned itself as one of the leading cultural cities on the continent. SP-Arte presents a unique opportunity for fair visitors to experience a rich representation of Brazilian art alongside an array of international works.
The fair offers several initiatives to promote and cultivate a cultural dialogue with its public. The fair’s program is separated into four sections: Editorial Cluster, Curatorial Lab, VIP Professional program, and Dialogues. SP-Arte is committed to education and strives to provide a space that supports the advancement of art professionals in Brazil. Together with curator Adriano Pedrosa, SP-Arte develops programs that provide tools to build and encourage participation in the international art industry by professionals and visitors alike.
São Paulo is home to the country’s most prestigious museums, foundations and galleries. During the fair, SP-Arte establishes partnerships with various institutions; the city’s energy intensifies with activity, furthering the fair’s outreach. Guests are invited to participate in the various cultural programs featured in the fair and to experience the many events taking place outside of the fair.
