Opening: October 18, 6pm (Artist in attendance)

Torstr.170, 10115 Berlin
PARISIAN LAUNDRY is thrilled to announce its first exhibition in Berlin by Montreal-based artist Jeanie Riddle. The project space Sur la Montagne (SLAM) in Berlin offers Canadian and international artists visibility in the established art scene of Berlin-Mitte.
SLAM is a not for profit space whose exhibition programming includes video, performance, installation and painting. Gallery director and artist Drew Simpson programs the gallery on an invitational basis.
PARISIAN LAUNDRY’s inaugural exhibition in Berlin is curated by Dacil Kurzweg and will present Deep, Plus A Direction (BLISS_CPD) a solo installation by Jeanie Riddle.
The artist will work in situ to assemble one of her works from her BLISS_CPD series—spatial interventions that include spillings, stacking, and accumulations that Riddle has been exploring for the past 10 years. Here, Riddle will investigate the gallery’s floors and walls and transform them with masking tape, adhesive paper and latex house paint.
Also on view will be a series of works on paper that the artist completed while in residence at Triangle Arts in Brooklyn.
Jeanie Riddle holds an MFA from Concordia University in Montreal. She was a finalist in the RBC Canadian Painting Competition in 2008. Her work has been widely shown, notably at Circa, Montreal; Illingworth Kerr Gallery, Calgary; FoFA Gallery, Montreal; Thérèse Dion, Montreal; YYZ Artist Outlet, Toronto and in numerous group exhibitions.
Jeanie Riddle was awarded the inaugural Yves Gaucher Studio Award and her work is found in important corporate and private collections such as Bank of Montreal, Giverny Capital, RBC Investor Services / London-UK Aldo Group, Duncan Ross & Associates, and the Canadian Art Foundation.
This temporary exhibition is part of PARISIAN LAUNDRY’s nomadic profile which creates international visibility for Canadian artists in curated exhibitions outside the ordinary commercial art fair. The gallery’s satellite programme was launched last summer with a Pop Up space in Toronto’s Drake Lab, where a curated group show of gallery artists was presented.
PARISIAN LAUNDRY would like to thank SODEC, the Canada Council for the Arts, and Drew Simpson.
