Michael Kohn Gallery is thrilled to announce its participation in The Armory Show 2013 with a selection of brand new work by dynamic artists including Ryan McGinness, Simmons & Burke, Retna, Dennis Hollingsworth and Joe Goode. Kohn will present two new series of work by collaborative duo Simmons & Burke, one of which forms the basis of the artists’ second solo show at the Michael Kohn Gallery opening in May of this year. Joe Goode, one of the original Light and Space artists hailing from the 1960s California art renaissance, continues his exploration of perception and seeing in several new sculptural acrylic paintings on fiberglass. The booth will feature three new paintings by artist Dennis Hollingsworth in his singular painting style, with canvases of brilliant oil paint that challenge the two-dimensionality of the medium. Ryan McGinness will debut highly anticipated new paintings, many of which were made specifically for the booth at the Armory. These bold and sophisticated paintings are layered with contemporary and historical iconography to shed light on our image-saturated world.  Finally, graffiti writer and fine artist Retna will also unveil never-before-seen paintings made exclusively for The Armory Show 2013 that beautifully showcase the artist’s fascination with language and culture.
