Online Auction through May 14, 2013
Preview at PULSE NY, with special project by Franco Mondini-Ruiz
May 9–12, 2013
Support Creative Capital’s work with adventurous artists through our annual Benefit & Auction. Our 2013 auction is now online and features wonderful artworks by Creative Capital grantees Byron Au Yong, James Bidgood, Complex Movements, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Ken Gonzales-Day, Joan Jeanrenaud, Zoe Keating, Simone Leigh, Meredith Monk, Daniel Roumain, Lisa Sigal, Kerry Skarbakka, Stacey Steers, Noelle Tan, Trimpin and Sam Van Aken.
On our Auction site, you can also enter our Miami Art Fair Raffle, for three nights in an oceanfront room at the Delano Hotel South Beach, December 5–8. Raffle tickets are 50 USD, or 200 USD for five.
Join us at PULSE New York (May 9–12), where the auction works will be available for preview and pre-sale. We’ll also present a special project, Spring Flings & Pretty Things, featuring the dynamic Texas artist Franco Mondini-Ruiz (2001 Visual Arts grantee) in the unlikely role of exhibiting and selling his own works at the fair. Incorporating painting, sculpture, installation, performance, storytelling and a dose of entrepreneurial panache, Mondini-Ruiz creates artworks, environments and experiences that Roberta Smith of The New York Times has said “question notions of preciousness and art-market exclusivity while delivering a fizzy visual pleasure.”
The auction festivities culminate with our May 14th Benefit Party at a beautiful private home in Tribeca, with a live performance by Daniel Roumain (2002 Performing Arts grantee), great food and drinks, a presentation of Mondini-Ruiz’s Spring Flings project, silent and live auctions, and the raffle drawing. Benefit tickets begin at 250 USD and can be purchased online.
All auction and special project proceeds are shared with contributing grantees, and benefit Creative Capital’s mission of supporting innovative artists across the country through funding, counsel and career development services. Since 1999, Creative Capital has committed 29 million USD in financial and advisory support to 418 projects representing 529 artists, and our Professional Development Program has reached 5,900 artists in more than 170 communities across the U.S. For more information, visit www.creative-capital.org.
