FIAC and the Groupe Galeries Lafayette are proud to announce the fifth consecutive edition of the Lafayette Sector, an ongoing programme launched in 2009 in the context of FIAC’s partnership with the Groupe Galeries Lafayette, Official Sponsor of FIAC.
This programme underlines the joint desire of FIAC and the Groupe Galeries Lafayette to provide tangible support to the actors of the emerging art scene in its international dimension. The Lafayette Sector provides financial support to ten French and international galleries presenting emerging artists. Participants are selected by an independent jury of international curators. Guillaume Houzé (Art Patronage Director, Groupe Galeries Lafayette, Paris), Jean de Loisy (President of the Palais de Tokyo, Paris), Emma Lavigne (Centre Pompidou, Musée national d’art moderne, Paris), and Scott Cameron Weaver (Kunstmuseum, Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel) constitute the 2013 jury.

FIAC 2013 reinforces the development of its off-site exhibitions programme, Hors les Murs. In association with the Domaine National du Louvre et des Tuileries, an ensemble of outdoor works will be presented in the Tuileries Garden. In addition to this programme, an exhibition focusing on themes such as nature, biodiversity and the environment will be held in the Jardin des Plantes and in the diverse range of indoor and outdoor sites in the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle. Following the success of the inaugural 2012 edition, in collaboration with the Comité Vendôme and its members, the prestigious Place Vendôme will house monumental outdoor projects.
FIAC is proud to present a new Hors les Murs site on the banks of the Seine, thereby underlining its installation in prestigious venues situated along the river. This project is made possible thanks to the redevelopment of the left bank of the Seine, a flagship project for the City of Paris in 2013.
Artists’ films and performances will be presented in collaboration with the Auditorium of the Louvre Museum, the Auditorium of the Grand Palais andthe Fondation d’entreprise Ricardfor the Cinéphémère.
FIAC week will be marked by a wealth of artistic and cultural events organised by galleries, museums, institutions, collectors and patrons of the arts.
