Chaco: Contemporary Art Fair of Chile is pleased to present the list of galleries that have been selected for the 2013 edition. The Fair will be held between September 26 and 30 featuring 31 galleries from Latin America, United States and Europe, nine Pop_Up Spaces from all over the country, 15 publishing spaces of Art, Architecture and Design, occupying the historic spaces of the Mapocho Station Cultural Centre, the heart of the patrimonial memory of Santiago.
In 2013 Chaco celebrates its fifth edition. During five days, international and national collectors, artists, curators, journalists, universities, students, and amateurs meet to enjoy a unique experience of visual arts and culture.
“In 2013 our focus is on the quality of the exhibitors, the excellence of the programs, the cutting edge of the projects presented. Chaco is a boutique fair where our visitors feel the attention of a personalized service. Leading international and national galleries will be showing more than 500 works of contemporary art, personalities of the international art system will contribute to the conversations with the aim of create a deeper knowledge of values, a consciousness on the practices of collecting, which are for us essentials to establish the new patrimonies that the country is competent to build up for the community. Chile is a new market, an intriguing scenery for visual arts in Latin America and Chaco is the more challenging channel where all these experiences and competencies merge into and take place,” said the Directors of the fair.

Programs
Pop_Up Spaces isan innovative program dedicated to insert into the contemporary art market nine Chilean alternative artistic projects who installed new ways of management and business crossing different specificities as visual arts, music, poetry, illustration, cinema and design.
Conversation Program, curated by Gonzalo Pedraza, actually curator of Matucana 100, is focused on “The collection. Chile?”

Founded in 2009, Chaco Art Fair is a platform aimed at the internationalization of Chilean contemporary art and the development and growth of the Chilean art market. In its four years of history, Chaco has brought people closer to contemporary art building up knowledge, curiosity and opportunities in the context of an ever-progressing country.
