Explore Amsterdam’s lively contemporary art scene during the Amsterdam Art Weekend. More than 35 galleries, artist’s residencies and museums will join together to present Amsterdam’s latest and best contemporary art. The rich programme of events varies from special exhibitions, performances and artist’s talks to open studios in well-known international art institutes. The second edition of the Amsterdam Art Weekend, organised by Capital A and in collaboration with RijksakademieOPEN, will demonstrate how much inspiration and talent Amsterdam has to offer in the field of contemporary art.
During RijksakademieOPEN 2013, 50 international artists invite you to their studios. A selection of talented and ambitious artists from all continents come to Amsterdam each year to pursue a residency at the Rijksakademie. Here they have the opportunity to engage in debate, concentrate on research and experiment and devote themselves to producing new work. The results are on show at RijksakademieOPEN.
