Museo De Arte Carrillo Gil and Adrastus Collection is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition El ojo en el tiempo: obras de la Colección Adrastus (The Eye on Time: Works from Adrastus Collection) at the Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil in Mexico City.

Adrastus Collection began its activities more than ten years ago, when the collectors Javier Lumbreras and Lorena Pérez-Jácome started gathering artworks that reflected the best of the artistic creations from the dawn of the XXI century. Paintings, sculpture, mix media, video and performances from Pierre Huyghe, Roman Ondák, Gabriel Sierra, Cinthia Marcelle, Ryan Gander, Quisqueya Henríquez, Jim Lambie, Danh Vo, Pawel Althamer, Monika Sosnowska, Rosa Barba, Gonzalo Lebrija and Tacita Dean, to name a few, emphasize the contradictions and diversity of artistic expressions from an era of globalization.

The artworks from El ojo en el tiempo were selected because they share a conceptual, iconographic and symbolic relationship with the present-day and the idea of time. Considering time as an encircling concept that not only represents the everyday instants, but the ephemeral, and fleeting essence of the reality we live in.
