Three Dubai-based galleries, Carbon 12 Gallery, Green Art Gallery and Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde, are proud to announce their participation in the upcoming 32nd edition of Art Brussels, taking place from 25–27 April. Together, the galleries will be showcasing leading regional and international contemporary artists including Kamrooz Aram, Seher Shah, Sara Rahbar, Ralf Ziervogel, Hassan Sharif and :mentalKLINIK, among others.

Carbon 12 was established in 2008, initiating a comprehensive, firmly global, program of institution-grade artists. Internationally active, Carbon 12 continuously introduces and promotes both established and emerging artists to the UAE contemporary art scene, supplementing its six to eight annual exhibitions with diverse contextual activities including publications and talks that actively engage the public and educational institutions. The playful, organic process that constitutes the creative production of Carbon 12′s artist base is facilitated and mirrored by its location in Al Quoz.

Green Art Gallery represents a multi-generational mix of artists from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Turkey and beyond, working across different media, traditional and new, with an emphasis on research based ideas. In 2012, Green Art Gallery initiated a publication program collaborating with curators, writers, and artists, to expand the reach of its exhibition program beyond the white cube. In this way, the gallery aims to contribute to the documentation, archiving and historicizing of artistic production in the region.

Participating at Art Brussels for the fourth consecutive year, Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde was founded in 2006, providing pivotal exhibition platforms for its artists from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and Iran. Supporting exhibitions with accompanying catalogues, the gallery’s most recent publication is Fictionville, a monograph dedicated to the work of Rokni Haerizadeh, edited by Negar Azimi and published by Koenig Books.

The three galleries are located in Dubai’s Alserkal Avenue, a prominent arts district within the industrial quarter of the city, which houses over twenty alternative arts spaces and contemporary art galleries. Currently doubling in size with an expansion project, supported by the Alserkal family, it will welcome a wide spectrum of creative organizations that will further transform the cultural landscape of Dubai.
