February 25–March 1, 2015
What artists will you present at #ARCOmadrid 2015? That is the question!
ARCOmadrid is now accepting applications for next year’s edition of the fair. In 2015, ARCOmadrid will continue to highlight artists themselves, featuring projects by individual artists or by pairs of artists in dialogue with each other in the Solo/Duo programme, for which the Organizing Committee will select a maximum of 30 proposals.
ARCOmadrid 2015′s Organizing Committee will be composed of Josep Aloy, Polígrafa, Barcelona; Mira Bernabeu, Espai Visor-Galeria Visor, Valencia; Luciana Brito, Galería Luciana Brito, São Paulo; Pedro Cera, Galería Pedro Cera, Lisbon; Christopher Grimes, Christopher Grimes Gallery, Santa Monica, California; Alex Mor, Mor·Charpentier, Paris/Bogotá; Iñigo Navarro, Galería Leandro Navarro, Madrid; Silvia Ortiz, Galería Travesía Cuatro, Madrid/Guadalajara; Guillermo Romero, Parra & Romero, Madrid, and Thomas Schulte, Galerie Thomas Schulte, Berlin.
As always, in 2015 ARCOmadrid will maintain its unique role of serving as a meeting place for galleries, curators, directors of museums and biennials, and international collectors. As a result, ARCOmadrid continues to be a place where ideas and projects are shared and exchanged, as it was in 2014 when more than 200 art world professionals and 300 collectors were invited as special guests (click here to see a list of last year’s professional guests.)
Colombia will be featured as the guest country at ARCOmadrid 2015, with a special section of galleries selected by Juan A. Gaitán and a programme of exhibitions at major art institutions throughout Madrid, with support from the Colombian Embassy in Spain and the Colombian Ministry of Culture.
In #Opening, the section dedicated to new galleries, curator Chris Sharp will join Luiza Teixeira de Freitas in leading the selection process that will introduce new galleries to the ARCOmadrid audience.
#SoloProjects will focus on Latin American art and art discourse, led by Irene Hofmann and Lucía Sanromán and including the participation of a range of critics and curators from Latin America.
Applications for ARCOmadrid 2015 are available on the fair’s website: www.arco.ifema.es until July 1.
