New: artgenève invites galleries to present sculptures on the shores of Lake Léman.
As part of artgenève 2015, exhibiting galleries have the opportunity to present sculptures on the banks of Lake Léman. The available spots are located along Quai Président Wilson, Quai du Mont-Blanc and Pont de la Machine, some of Geneva’s more representative and frequented lakeside areas.
artgenève—salon d’art
The prestige of Geneva has long been reflected in the many events and conventions held in the city, which attract visitors from around the world.
artgenève—salon d’art—is a new exhibition of modern and contemporary art, whose first three editions from 2012 to 2014 were a success, both commercially and in terms of their programming.
The fourth edition will be held from January 29 to February 1, 2015, a key period for luxury tourism in Geneva and strategic dates within the art fair calendar. Taking place in a refined atmosphere and on a human scale, artgenève is a true reflection of Geneva itself, a pleasant city of international renown. This new artistic platform in the Suisse Romande pays homage to the requirements of the Lake Geneva region’s many collectors and art lovers, and of those who will pass through Geneva at this time of the year. The presence of important galleries and art dealers over the last years, and the high standard of artgenève’s visitors, show the fair’s great potential, on both a regional and international level.
Galleries have the opportunity to stage a solo exhibition in a space attached to their stand. These stands are available at a discounted rate, and form the subject of the Prix Solo artgenève – F.P.JOURNE, a contest with a prize of CHF 15,000. In the same vein, the new section Conversation Piece invites a curator to intervene in a generous and original manner, with the mission to integrate artworks of artists represented by exhibiting galleries. Participating galleries have the opportunity to take part to a second version of this exhibition at the Gstaad Palace the week after artgenève.
Finally, to make the visitor’s experience complete, and in response to the great interest created by the programme which was offered in 2014, special visits to private collections and other new discoveries will be added to the VIP programme—all reserved exclusively for your privileged clients. We therefore invite you to send in your application for this new edition.
Along with a flourishing art scene, thanks to Geneva’s Quartier des Bains and the Art en Vieille-Ville associations, Geneva with its international organizations, its financial centre, the Geneva Freeports and its world-leading watchmaking industry—fields represented by several of artgenève’s partners—offers an exceptional platform from which to develop your network.
