EXPO CHICAGO returns with 140 leading international galleries from 17 countries and 43 cities for the third annual exposition. In addition to the world-class work exhibited, EXPO CHICAGO presents core programming including /Dialogues, IN/SITU, EXPO VIDEO, as well as over 25 special exhibitions from notable museums, organizations, institutions and universities and several special projects, making EXPO CHICAGO a must-visit destination on the international art fair calendar.

/Dialogues
Presented in partnership with The School of The Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), EXPO /Dialogues offers panel discussions, conversations and provocative artistic discourse with leading artists, curators, designers and arts professionals on the current issues that engage them. IN/SITU
Situated throughout the exposition floor, IN/SITU provides a dynamic opportunity for exhibiting galleries to showcase large-scale installations and site-specific works by leading international artists. IN/SITU is organized by Executive Director of Independent Curators International (ICI) Renaud Proch. See a full list of IN/SITU participants here.
EXPO VIDEO
EXPO VIDEO is a selection of dynamic and cutting-edge film, video and new media works by artists selected from exhibiting galleries at the 2014 exposition. Curated by independent curator Astria Suparak, EXPO VIDEO will run on the main floor of the exposition at four curated viewing stations designed by Studio Gang Architects—one of which will showcase the work of Columbia College Chicago students. Special exhibitions and projects
More than 25 special exhibitions from select regional, national, and international non-profit institutions, museums, and organizations are included in the third annual exposition. Complementing the surrounding elements of the exposition, these programs illustrate and preserve the important relationship between contemporary and modern art and non-profit organizations. Several special projects will also be on view.

EXPO EDITIONS + BOOKS
New to EXPO this year, EDITIONS + BOOKS will showcase a cross-section of artist books, editions, prints, and more. From limited edition collectibles to zines and pocketbooks, the booths will offer a diverse array of print media and cultures that span across photography, collage, drawing, printmaking, art monographs, and creative writing. TASCHEN
Renowned around the world for publishing ambitious and accessible illustrated books on art, architecture, design, fashion, film, travel, pop culture, and sexy subjects, TASCHEN will participate in EXPO CHICAGO for the first time. Founded as a small comic shop in Cologne, Germany in 1980, TASCHEN stores now operate in 12 cities around the world, retailing the full range of TASCHEN publications. For EXPO CHICAGO, TASCHEN will offer an exclusive peek at a selection of their 2014 winter titles.
EXPO ART WEEK
Highlighting the vast cultural opportunities that Chicago has to offer to collectors, dealers, art enthusiasts and tourists, EXPO CHICAGO in conjunction with CHOOSE CHICAGO, the city’s tourism and marketing organization, and Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), presents EXPO ART WEEK (September 15–21). With EXPO CHICAGO as the centerpiece, the exposition will join together with the city’s most prestigious cultural institutions for this citywide celebration of art and culture that will include museum exhibitions, gallery openings, installations, public art projects, music, theater and dance performances and special dining experiences.
A core program of EXPO ART WEEK, Art After Hours is a citywide open gallery night inviting EXPO CHICAGO visitors and the Chicago community to experience the city’s vibrant art scene, including alternative exhibition venues and performance spaces, open during extended hours on Friday, September 19, from 6 to 9pm. Free shuttles will be running throughout the evening to ensure easy transportation between River North, the West Loop and the Wabash Arts Corridor gallery districts.
