Milan Image Art Fair – MIA Fair, the international photography and video art fair in Milan, is delighted to announce its fifth-anniversary edition that will be held from Thursday, April 9 through Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Porta Nuova District. The VIP opening will take place on Wednesday, April 8.
For the first time MIA Fair will be in concomitance with miart, the modern and contemporary art fair, making Milan a unique destination for art lovers and collectors.
MIA Fair 2015 will showcase exhibitors under three sections:
–Solo show
–Group show based on the Expo 2015 theme: “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”
–A selected section of Proposta MIA artists
Applications to MIA Fair Milan are now open until November 30, 2014.
MIA Fair offers the possibility to art collectors to enjoy a lively, innovative and interesting event where they will find both established and emerging artists. MIA Fair strongly promotes education on photography aiming also to create a new and young collectors base who approaches contemporary art through the collection of photography.
MIA Fair confirms its curatorial approach, continuously keeping high-quality standards together with MIA Fair Advisory Committee members composed by Fabio Castelli, Gigliola Foschi, Francesca Malgara, Cristina Manasse Roberts, Roberto Mutti, and Enrica Viganò.
MIA Fair has quickly established its position in the international art fair scene. In 2014 MIA Fair, at its fourth edition, welcomed in Milan 20,000 visitors and brought together 180 solo shows of international artists, of which 155 artists presented by 93 galleries and 25 independent artists, 16 countries represented, 30 exhibitors in the publishing sector and an interesting cultural program, which displayed 48 events covering subjects from the photography market system and the world of collecting: 15 conferences, 18 publishers’ presentations and 20 book signings. Last edition also featured four sponsored awards by BMW i, BNL Group BNP Paribas, Eberhard & Co., the special portfolio review award “Codice MIA” assigned by a jury of international art collectors and presented the curatorial section by Lavazza, supporting emerging artists and curators.
In 2014 MIA Fair has chosen Singapore for its international expansion. The first edition of MIA&D Fair Singapore will be held in conjunction with the fourth Singapore International Photography Festival from 23 to 26 October, 2014. The internationally acclaimed events will create an unrivalled platform for everyone to enjoy. Expected to attract up to 20,000 visitors, MIA Fair will occupy a 3,500 square meters of exhibition space at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre.
