Perspektive – Fund for Contemporary Art and Architecture was founded in May 2014 by the Bureau des arts plastiques of the Institut français Germany and founded with joint funding from the Goethe-Institut, the Institut français and the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, to reinforce the cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Under the guidance of Cathy Larqué (Head of the Bureau des arts plastiques), the independent German-French expert committee will select the projects to be supported.

Its members include Eike Becker (architect, Eike Becker_Architekten), Patrick Bouchain (architect, Construire), Arthur de Ganay (collector, Collection Arthur de Ganay), Hélène Guenin (Head of Department of Programming, Centre Pompidou-Metz), Jean-Hubert Martin (curator) and Lisa Marei Schmidt (Curator, National Gallery in the Hamburger Bahnhof).

The first call for projects by Perspektive begins now and runs until 5 December. In January 2015 the expert committee will announce the projects that shall receive funding for implementation in the same year.

Perspektive supports projects that focus on exchange and collaboration with artists, architects and intermediaries of the emerging scene of both fields between Germany and France.

Perspektive is aimed at public and private institutions. These include museums, art centres, architecture centres, Kunstvereins, galleries, project spaces, artist-run spaces, alternative exhibition venues, residencies, educational establishments for art or architecture, curatorial studies, research centres as well as universities.

Seminars, workshops, symposia, conferences or concept and research labs that contribute to the dissemination of ideas and competences will be funded.

The call for proposals takes place once a year for the forthcoming year.

Further information as well as the application form can be found on www.fonds-perspektive.de.
