September 30–October 4, 2015
ARTBO, International Art Fair of Bogota, is proud to announce the exhibitors list for the 11th edition of the fair.
ARTBO has become one of the most important art fairs in Latin America and has been globally recognized for its quality. The fair’s unique model, which includes a wide program of both commercial and non-commercial sections, and its focus on quality and diversity, has given the fair one of the most refreshing and cutting-edge perspectives within the art fair circuit. As such, the fair has been a key element in the worldwide recognition that Colombian art and its vibrant scene are enjoying today.
This year, the fair will feature 70 galleries in its Main section and 15 galleries in Projects section. The 2015 edition will bring the best of modern and contemporary art to the six sections of the fair.
While galleries from Latin America continue to have a strong presence on the fair, this edition presents exhibitors and artists from further afield with a growing participation from Europe and the United States.
The Main section showcases work of the highest quality, hosting galleries from over 30 cities. Curated by Catalina Lozano and Manuela Moscoso, the Projects section will feature works by 15 contemporary artists, each created specifically for the fair. The Reference section, curated by Ana María Lozano, comes back for its second year to pay tribute to renowned art masters who, due to their historic importance, have become definite guidelines for artists today. Along this commercial sections is Artecámara, a non-commercial section dedicated to promoting and showcasing the work of promising young Colombian artists; this year, the section will show works by 33 artists and four artist-run spaces, selected by curator Mariangela Méndez. Articularte, meanwhile, is the education space for experimentation and creation and will continue to explore the relationship between art and education. Finally, Forum, curated by José Roca, will host discussions on contemporary art and feature an experimental format.
