miart—the international fair of modern and contemporary art—continues with the established tradition of the “miartalks,” which during the past three years of the fair have brought over 150 international speakers to Milan during the three days in which miart is open to the public.
For the first time, miart is collaborating with In Between Art Film—the production house for artists’ films and experimental video founded by Beatrice Bulgari—to transform the miartalks into a thematic platform of discussion and debate: over 40 international artists, curators, filmmakers, directors of institutions, producers and professionals active in the field of visual and performative arts will discuss how time-based artistic practices are redefining the boundaries of contemporary art and its languages, its institutions, and of both public and private art collections.
The curatorship of miartalks 2016 has been assigned to Ben Borthwick, artistic director of the Plymouth Arts Centre (Plymouth, UK), who has imagined a cross-disciplinary forum that explores the constantly shifting dialogue between the worlds of visual art, cinema, music, video, theater and dance. Three days of interviews, round tables and conversations that will analyze present scenarios of integration between the languages of creativity.
The complete miartalks program can be found at www.miart.it
