Barcelona Gallery Weekend is an event for art enthusiasts, collectors, professionals and artists, created with the intention of becoming the annual art meeting in Barcelona.

The 2nd Barcelona Gallery Weekend has a wide-ranging programme in the most prominent galleries of the city, including Compositions a curated programme of artistic interventions in emblematic locations, guided routes, special activities and exhibitions at the main non-profit spaces and institutions. A four-day event during which Barcelona will be displaying all of its artistic effervescence: over 90 outstanding artists will be presented in 50 art spaces.

Participating galleries and artists
23 of the city’s contemporary and avant-garde art galleries will be opening their doors together to present the very best of their programmes.

Compositions programme
The curatorial team Latitudes is responsible for curating the Compositions programme, comprising five temporary interventions produced specially for the Barcelona Gallery Weekend by artists active on the Barcelona art scene. Each one responds to a particular space—singular for its architecture, activity, or history.

The artists and spaces in this edition are the following:
Lúa Coderch (Club Billar Barcelona, billiard club) / Regina Giménez (Former textile factory Can Trinxet) / Lola Lasurt (Biblioteca Pública Arús, public library) / Robert Llimós (Participating galleries and venues) / Wilfredo Prieto (Stables of the Guàrdia Urbana, city police)

Parallel programme
Barcelona Gallery Weekend will be complemented by the programmes of non-profit spaces and the principal institutions, which are joining the event to offer another viewpoint of local art.
