This September, the ninth edition of abc art berlin contemporary will take place, continuing its commitment to a format that places the artist and their presentation of work at the center. Founded by a group of Berlin galleries, abc invites a group of national and international peers to present solo presentations of artists within their program. abc has returned to Station Berlin, whose centrally located exhibition spaces reflect characteristic features of the city—a passion for experimentation and openness to evolution and change, enabling abc’s continual development and transformation.
abc will focus on a concentrated selection of singular presentations, with a reduced selection of artistic positions this year to be exhibited in an architecture developed by the office of Johanna Meyer-Grohbrügge. On Friday evening, Berlin galleries will open exhibitions such as Carl Andre, Florian Auer, Björn Braun, Nina Canell, Cecile B. Evans, Cerith Wyn Evans, Sylvie Fleury, Sean Landers, Remy Markowitsch, Ugo Rondinone, Sterling Ruby, and Yves Scherer. On Saturday afternoon, a program consisting of talks and performances awaits you at abc.
Concurrent with abc, the 9th Berlin Biennale will be presenting a diverse program with performances, discussions and lectures; it will also be the final opportunity to see the Biennale, curated by the artist collective DIS. For the fifth time, abc will partner with Berlin Art Week, presenting art-related events throughout the city.
