Main Section
Application deadline: Friday, October 28, 2016
An independent Selection Committee comprising Ana María Battistozzi (art critic and independent curator, Buenos Aires), Orly Benzacar (gallerist of Galería Ruth Benzacar, Buenos Aires), Eduardo Brandão (gallerist of Vermelho, São Paulo), Ignacio Liprandi (gallerist of Ignacio Liprandi Arte Contemporáneo, Buenos Aires) and Sabine Schmidt (gallerist of PSM, Berlin) will evaluate galleries’ proposals and choose the participants in arteBA 2017.
All the galleries that apply for the main section may opt either for the standard form or to be included as a Special Project, i.e. a project that presents up to three artists with a curatorial emphasis.
A different consulting committee than the Selection Committee will oversee the choice of the Cabinet, a section highlighted within the space of each gallery, in which one work or various works by a single artist may be on view. The aim of the Cabinet is to highlight relevant, singular and emblematic works of modern and contemporary artists within the Main Section. With this offering, arteBA presents institutions and public or private collections with works to suit their needs and interests.
