The 43rd FIAC, one of the world’s leading art fairs, will be held in Paris from Thursday, October 20 to Sunday, October 23, 2016, in the historical Parisian venue, the Grand Palais. The vernissage will take place on Wednesday, October 19.
The fair will present 186 of the world’s most prestigious galleries from 27 countries.
Directed by Jennifer Flay since 2010, the fair is broadening the scope of its programme this year.
Grand Palais
The General Sector will feature 176 modern and contemporary art galleries deployed in the exceptional spaces of the Grand Palais: the Nave on the ground floor together with the Salon d’honneur, the Salon Jean Perrin and the Upper Galleries on the first floor. The Upper Galleries also host the ten galleries comprising the Lafayette Sector. Viewexhibitors list
Widely recognized for its excellence, the Lafayette Sector, a programme launched in 2009 by FIAC and the Groupe Galeries Lafayette, Official Sponsor, underlines their joint desire to provide ongoing support to the actors of the emerging art scene in its international dimension. The Lafayette Sector provides financial support to ten French and international galleries presenting emerging artists, selected by a jury of specialists. On Site at the Petit Palais & Avenue Winston Churchill
FIAC’s new sector, On Site, will present sculptures and installations in the prestigious context of the Petit Palais, directly opposite the Grand Palais in association with Christophe Leribault, curator and director of the Petit Palais, and associate curator Lorenzo Benedetti.
On Site will assemble nearly 40 artworks that invest the spaces of the Galerie Sud, the Pavillon Sud, the Galerie Nord, the Garden of the Petit Palais, the Galerie des Grands Formats.
As part of On Site, FIAC settles on the Avenue Winston Churchill between the Petit and Grand Palais for the duration of the fair. A unique moment in the history of art events in Paris.

Hors les Murs: Tuileries Garden, Musée Eugène Delacroix & Place Vendome
Since 2006, FIAC and the Domaine national du Louvre et des Tuileries have presented, in the paths, lawns and ponds of the famous Tuileries Garden, a programme of outdoor works including installations, sculptures, and architectural projects. View artworks list
As an extension of the exhibition the Tuileries Garden, the musée Eugène Delacroix will open its doors to FIAC visitors, in association with the musée du Louvre. Stéphane Thidet will present two major works.
In collaboration with the Comité Vendôme and in association with Galerie Eva Presenhuber, Gladstone Gallery, Sadie Coles HQ, Esther Schipper, and Kukje Gallery/Tina Kim Gallery, the internationally acclaimed artist Ugo Rondinone presents a series of ten majestic sculptures in aluminium on the prestigious Place Vendôme. Performances, conferences, films
This year, FIAC reinforces its support of performative practices and exchanges between contemporary art disciplines by inaugurating a new festival, Parades for FIAC. This programme investigates intersections between music, contemporary dance, performance and poetry in collaboration with the Louvre Museum, the Palais de la Découverte and the Grand Palais. A conversation room will host talks inside the Grand Palais on themes such as the relationship between the visual arts and scientific research or architecture. View conferences programme
Artist’s films will be presented in association with the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard—in the Cinéphemère installed beside the rotonde Alexandre III of the Grand Palais. View films list
In Paris during FIAC
Our “In Paris during FIAC” programme presents a network of over 100 cultural institutions, including prominent museums, arts centers, private foundations and collections such as the Louvre Museum, the Centre Pompidou, the Palais de Tokyo, the Musée Picasso, the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the Grand Palais, the Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris, the Château de Versailles, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, and the Petit Palais.
