Curator: Wato Tsereteli

The exhibition presents CCA-Tbilisi from the Country of Georgia for the first time in Taiwan for this international exchange. They cooperated with VT Artsalon to organize an exhibition that lasts for a month. This exhibition will hold its opening ceremony 5pm in the afternoon on March 24. Not only is the purpose of cooperation between both parties to increase the interactions between artists internationally but also hoping to continue one of the main core beliefs that CCA-Tbilisi has had since it started and that belief is “to combine Exhibition Curating and Art Education,” hoping that artists could bring to the society the inspiration of art and would gather the power of social knowledge. Therefore the purpose of holding this event in Taiwan is to express the spreading of this concept to an international stage.

This trip to Taiwan, the CCA-Tbilisi is led by Wato Tsereteli. Along with Wato Tsereteli are three Georgian artists Aleksi Sosselia, Galaqtion Eristavi, Zurabi Tsopurashvili. These four artists have experienced background in holding and curating exhibitions and the promotion of art education. Three of these artists would hold 30 minute lectures during the opening ceremony of the exhibition about their field of expertise from the Informal Master Program. These fields would include creative thinking, video art and agricultural art. Also, in the actual exhibition content, they decided not to bring projects directly to Taiwan. Instead they did research on Taiwan’s society, economy and history beforehand. Then using second hand furniture as exhibition material and creating projects that express the elements of Taiwan after they have arrived at Taiwan.

In addition, CCA-Tbilisi and VT Artsalon team cooperatively develop an artistic educational open-call project for Taiwan exclusively—“Informal Master Program,” which is an informal artistic practice containing several courses that will last for a month, and the program will be held on March 24 and 31, April 7, 14, and 21. Curator and two artists will share and instant teaching on March 24 themselves as a demonstration of the program.Through recruiting different fields of artists and holding classes on practicing art forms of their own expertise, it has resonated with its audiences. It inspired art education and has the effect of encouragement. Coming to Taiwan, CCA-Tbilisi hopes to extend the Informal Master Program. The audition in the Taiwan area for this event has been in full swing. The audition period is until March 24. We hope that the artist from Georgia and the professional artists chosen from our Taiwan audition would exchange opinions and ideas and have different influences on each other. These influences could bring to the people of Taiwan new reflections and feeling of different fields of art.
